barnes & Noble…It all started when…

My best friend at the time had moved to Florida, and I was in the market for a new job. I showed up for a coffee, casually was chatting with two of the managers, and was quickly set up for a formal interview with the store manager just a week later. I was thrilled when I got the job.

I work primarily in the cafe, where I serve food and beverages to customers. I also open and/or close the cafe, maintain inventory and stock levels, and work to reach sales goals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also work to maintain the cleaning log, keeping the indoor dining environment safe for customers, and the work area safe for myself and others. I am also trained on the bookfloor, where I assist customers, make recommendations of books, fulfill ship-from-store orders, and sell memberships.

I am extremely lucky to have wonderful coworkers and management, and am happy to be currently employed part-time here.
